If you’re reading this, you are probably looking for beautiful movies. Here I have complied a list of 05 beautiful movies that I want you and everyone to experience deeply.
1. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind:
The final 30 minutes of this movie is arguably the most beautiful thing I have ever watched on screen.
The film is about Joel and Clementine, who fell madly in love and slowly drifted apart. But they couldn’t ever forget each other. The memories haunted them.
So, Clementine decides to erase her memory of Joel. Eventually, she does that at a clinic and thinks that’s going to be the end of it. But boy, oh boy, wasn’t she wrong?
After discovering this, Joel also decides to do the same. However, while erasing the memory, his subconscious doesn’t want to erase certain memories with Clementine. He realizes he doesn’t want to erase their memory.
Joel meets Clementine again and again in different circumstances. God knows how many times they have erased their memories. No matter how many times they erase them, they keep falling in love again and again. Or do they?
Just watch it, man. Words aren’t enough to describe how beautiful Eternal Sunshine is.
Favorite Quote:
“What a loss to spend that much time with someone, only to find out that she’s a stranger.” – Joel
2. Silver Linings Playbook:
Perhaps the most unusual entry on this list. The movie is about a bipolar patient who is released from a clinic and becomes obsessed with rekindling his relationship with his ex-wife, Nikki. Unexpectedly, Pat meets Tiffany during this period. Tiffany is the sassiest and most straightforward girl you will ever know. She promises Pat that she will help him find Nikki only if he participates in a dance competition with her.
The film is quirky, sad, yet inspirational. While all the characters are flawed and imperfect, the acting is flawless throughout the movie. Silver Linings Playbook has a cool summer vibe with a touch of nostalgia. It teaches the old saying about how the darkest days can have silver linings too. We can all predict what happens at the end, but the way it unfolds is beautiful. The father-son storyline in this movie is often underrated; the chemistry between De Niro and Bradley Cooper was so real and heart-wrenching.
My favorite quote from the movie:
“The world will break your heart ten ways to Sunday, that’s guaranteed. And I can’t begin to explain that—or the craziness inside myself and everybody else—but guess what? Sunday is my favorite day again.” – Pat
3. Lost in Translation:
I am ashamed to admit that before watching it, I thought the movie would be boring. It turns out I was missing out on one of the most surreal films of all time. Lost in Translation is about that feeling of loneliness and finding someone out of nowhere who makes you feel everything!
It’s about Bob and Charlotte, who meet in Japan in a hotel bar. Bob is a washed-up actor who used to be really big back in the day, whereas Charlotte is beautiful, young, and simple. However, both of them are married, and they have a significant age gap.
Even after having partners, they both are somewhat lost in their love lives and in general. Both are looking to connect with someone subconsciously. One is so young, so delicate, and so lost. And Bob is so aged, has seen so much, yet is still so lost.
And both of them found solace in each other. The entire movie feels like one slow-motion shot. Everything happens slowly and peacefully. The movie sets look brilliant, and Tokyo looks so dreamy.
Lost in Translation has little dialogue. However, the silence speaks volumes. Beautiful, beautiful movie. Everyone should EXPERIENCE this film at least once in life. Yes, it’s that good!
Bookmark this scene and watch it again after watching the whole movie; I know you will look for it.
4. Moonrise Kingdom:
Another not-so-usual entry on this list. Anything made by Wes Anderson feels like beautiful paintings on screen. Moonrise Kingdom is no different. Moonrise Kingdom feels like a fusion of acrylic blue and ocean blue on screen. The sets and the visuals are breathtakingly beautiful.
Moonrise Kingdom Review by FGM
The movie revolves around two teenagers who fall in love and do stupid, childish things. You will feel nostalgic and happy after watching Moonrise Kingdom.
“I love you, but you don’t know what you are talking about.”
5. Her:
If you love pastel colors, you need to watch this. In my opinion, Her is the most aesthetic movie of the last two decades. You can just mute the sound, and even then, you can look at the screen for straight two hours. And that’s not an overstatement by any stretch.
What happens when a man and an AI fall in love? You need to watch the movie to know the answer. Her is a tale of a lonely, wise man and a beautiful AI soul (if we can call it that).
You will have a profound and long-lasting lingering feeling after watching it. And the orgasmic visual aesthetics are icing on the cake. I even love the names of the characters, Theodore and Samantha. By the way, Joaquin Phoenix (who played the Joker in the movie Joker) played the character of Theodore.
Tell me if you have heard something more beautiful than this:
“Sometimes I think I have felt everything I’m ever gonna feel. And from here on out, I’m not gonna feel anything new. Just lesser versions of what I’ve already felt.” – Theodore
