What Happened to Mikkel:
After the disappearance of Mikkel in the first episode, we see that he has time-traveled to 1986. He meets his to-be dad and mom, Ulrich and Katharina. Obviously, they couldn’t recognize Mikkel as it’s the year 1986 and they are college-going lovers.
In the last scene, you could see Katharina slap Ulrich’s head like Magnus used to do to Mikkel in 2019. Now we know how Magnus got that habit genetically from his mom.
What’s Going On with the Timeline:
Every 33 years, the same things are repeating. In 1986, Mads disappeared and now in 2019, Mikkel has disappeared from this timeline. Police chief Charlotte finds a bird with ear bleeding, which connects to a case from 1953. All things point towards a 33-year cycle.
Important Years: 1953 > 1986 > 2019
What’s Up with the Mysterious Stranger?
A stranger is seen in Winden. It looks like he is investigating the disappearances and all. My guess is he has traveled from the past or future and he knows things that we don’t know yet.
Other Key Points from the Episode:
• Jonas is going through his dad’s belongings. He finds a map that looks like it holds answers.
• Ulrich, Katharina, and Martha are going through severe emotional trauma. Katharina tells her daughter how Uncle Mads disappeared out of thin air just like Mikkel.
Episode 2 ends with a banger. I am expecting something similar in the episode 03.
